Welcome to the ROC Youth Employment Network, home to the ROC Your Job Youth After School Employment Program, the Summer of Opportunity Program, and the Summer Youth Employment Program. Here you can find and apply for both summer and after-school employment opportunities for youth ages 14-20 years-old in Monroe County and the City of Rochester, NY. On our pages, you’ll find helpful information about the programs and application process. Whether you are a youth interested in participating in the programs, a parent or guardian of an interested youth, or an employer looking to find out how to hire program participants, we’ve got you covered. Applications for 2026 summer employment opportunities in Monroe County and the City of Rochester for youth (ages 14-20) are open February 9th through April 17th. Click here beginning on Feb. 9th to apply!

Applications for 2026-2027 after-school employment opportunities in Monroe County and the City of Rochester for youth (ages 14-20) through the RochesterWorks ROC Your Job (RYJ) Program will be accepted beginning September 2026. More information about the RYJ Program is available here.

The ROC Youth Employment Network is a collaboration between the City of Rochester and Monroe County, with RochesterWorks acting as program administrator on behalf of the County. The intent of the ROC Youth Employment Network is to provide meaningful work opportunities to youth ages 14-20 within the City of Rochester and throughout Monroe County. The ROC Youth Employment Network programs include ROC Your Job (RYJ), Summer of Opportunity Program (SOOP), and Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

In 2025, 785 youth were given the opportunity to gain work experience, meet people, and learn new skills through these programs.
